In the new version of Google Maps (5.7) for Android you can download maps to your phone.
Tap menu > More > Labs. Select Download map area. Once you’ve done that, just follow the directions: “To download an area of the map, long press on the center of the area you’d like to save, then tap on the bubble. Or go to ‘More options’ on a search result details page. Then select ‘Download map area’.
Google+ (Google Plus) is still in active development and not yet available to everyone. You need an invitation to sign in.

Androzic is a Brilliant Navigation client for Android devices that uses OziExplorer maps (ozf2, ozfx3).
Great for hiking, geocaching, off-roading, sailing, boating and other outdoor activities. You are expected to be aware of OziExplorer or at least of where to get its maps. Maps also can be created by yourself, but with some afford. Can work without maps as a simple navigator.
