The Next 365 Days In 120 Seconds

One year in 120 seconds from Eirik Solheim on Vimeo.

I just wanted to let you in on a secret. The secret of the future. Yes, that’s right, the future: The next 365 days of life in this beautiful pale blue dot are in this video.

Yes, yes, the time lapse is from 2009, but no matter how many wars, natural disasters, sickness, elections, scandals and iPhone 5s get unveiled in 2011, this is what the world will be at, impervious to our stupidity and discoveries and glories and miseries and happiness and sadness and hate and love and cocktails and disco dances, spinning at 66,611 miles per hour around the Sun as it has been spinning for the last 4.5 billion years.

MegaCities: A Puccini Timelapse

The film below is a celebration of some of the world’s great cities edited to Giacomo Puccini’s “Nessen Dorma.” Footage was collected by film maker Craig McCourry during his past year exploring the megacities:

As Craig states – there is a certain freedom of roaming a metropolis in search of imagery, striking up causal conversations with strangers, never really knowing how the day will end. During his travels, Craig would keep a lookout for some of the best coffee shops at each location to rest his tired feet and soak into a newspaper. Along the way, you do capture some magnificent views and a pocketful of memories.
